Ultherapy in Seoul: A Lifting and Anti-Aging Guide for International Patients

October 27, 2026
Ultherapy in Seoul: lifting and anti-aging guide cover for international patients, Liftique Dermatology Sinsa Gangnam

Ultherapy is the lifting treatment most international patients ask for by name — and it is the right answer only when sagging starts in the deep layer. This guide shows who it suits, what it costs by shot count, and how a treatment trip to Seoul actually runs.

At a glance

  • Jawline, under-chin, brow sagging from the deep layer → Ultherapy Prime
  • Skin itself thin and crepey → Thermage FLX, often alongside Ultherapy
  • Hollowing in cheeks or temples → restore volume first, then consider lifting

Is Ultherapy the treatment you are actually looking for?

Start here. Patients often arrive asking for Ultherapy when the concern is really skin quality or volume. The options below are grouped by what is sagging, not by brand.

  • Jawline softening, double chin, heavier brow → Ultherapy Prime For people in their late 30s to 60s with early to moderate laxity who want a natural, conservative lift without surgery. Focused ultrasound creates thermal coagulation points in the SMAS layer, the same structural plane a surgical facelift repositions — see Ultherapy Prime.
  • Skin thin, crepey, fine lines around eyes and mouth → Thermage FLX When the skin surface itself has lost firmness rather than the deep structure. Radiofrequency heats the dermis broadly to tighten texture. Many patients benefit from both, same visit or a few weeks apart — see Thermage FLX.
  • Hollow cheeks, temples, under-eyes → Volume treatments Over 45, much of what reads as "sagging" is volume loss, and no amount of tightening fixes that alone. Collagen stimulators or filler restore support first — see Sculptra and Filler.
  • Contour already blurred, advanced laxity → Thread Lifting or a surgical consultation Ultherapy is a poor first choice when sagging is advanced or skin is very thin. A responsible dermatologist will say so — see Thread Lifting.

Ultherapy Prime, Thermage FLX and Sculptra side by side

These are the three treatments international patients most often weigh against each other. They work on different layers, which is why they are often combined rather than chosen between.

Why more shots is not better

Ultherapy Prime

Placement and depth decide the result, not the shot count.

Ultherapy is operator-dependent. A well-planned treatment that protects areas needing volume and concentrates energy where tissue has actually dropped will outperform a rushed session with more shots. Very low prices elsewhere usually mean reduced shots, delegated treatment or non-genuine transducers — worth asking about before booking anywhere, including here.

Planning a treatment trip to Seoul

Before you fly

Same-day consultation and treatment is possible; two to three days in Seoul is comfortable.

Contact us in English by email or WhatsApp with your concerns and preferred dates. We confirm availability, explain the likely treatment and send a price guide. A deposit by PayPal secures the appointment. Tell us your preferred language so we can prepare consent documents accordingly.

Treatment day

The treatment itself takes 20 to 40 minutes. Allow 2.5 to 3 hours for the full visit.

Dr. Won examines your face in person, discusses what Ultherapy can and cannot do for you, and maps the treatment zones and shot count. Numbing cream and pain management are applied before treatment. The visit includes consultation, consent, numbing time, the treatment and LDM + LED aftercare.

After treatment

No follow-up visit is required before flying home.

Skin may be slightly flushed immediately afterwards. Mild swelling is common and can last one to two weeks; tenderness along the jaw may last a few days. Makeup can be worn the same day. Early firmness is often noticed at four to six weeks, with the full result at two to three months. We stay in contact by email or WhatsApp after you return home.

How we approach it

Ultherapy Prime

What must keep its volume is decided before the first shot.

A dermatology specialist consults with you in person and designs the treatment using 2D Mark-Vu skin-condition photography and analysis and 3D EVE MUSE facial shape and contour analysis. Every consultation and every treatment at Liftique is performed by Dr. Won himself, in a single treatment room, without event promotions or high-volume scheduling.

Frequently asked questions

Is it worth flying to Korea for Ultherapy?

For most patients already considering the treatment, yes.

Non-surgical lifting is a daily procedure for Korean dermatologists rather than an occasional one, combination care is available under one roof, and pricing is generally lower than comparable treatment in the US or UK even after travel costs.

How many shots do I need?

Most full-face treatments fall between 300 and 600 shots.

The count depends on the areas treated and the degree of laxity, and is planned by Dr. Won at consultation rather than sold as a fixed package.

Is Ultherapy painful?

Deep warmth with brief sharper sensations as each shot is delivered.

With numbing cream and pain management it is well tolerated by most patients. Discomfort ends when the treatment ends.

Can I fly home the next day?

Yes. There is no required follow-up visit and no restriction on flying.

Mild swelling may last one to two weeks but does not affect travel.

Ultherapy or Thermage?

Ultherapy lifts deeper tissue; Thermage tightens skin texture.

Many patients benefit from both. The right choice depends on where your laxity sits, which is decided at consultation.

Do I need to speak Korean?

No. Consultation, consent and aftercare are available in English.

Chinese and Japanese inquiries are also handled through our international channels.

Individual results vary. This article is general information, not a diagnosis — the right treatment and shot count are decided at consultation.
